Definição de ato médico estético / Definition of aesthetic medical act

Pretende-se, com este documento, esclarecer e ajudar a distinguir o intuito da realização dos atos médicos “estéticos” mais comuns. A utilização dos conceitos “curativo” e “não curativo” são usados de forma genérica ao longo do documento, não sendo exclusivos da estética – existem outros atos médicos sem fins curativos que não estão sujeitos às considerações deste documento e que deverão ser objeto de esclarecimento à parte. De igual forma, o uso dos conceitos “curativo” e “não curativo” são determinantes objetivos clínicos físicos, e a classificação de um ato nestas categorias deverá ser sempre enquadrada com o status psicológico, e de bem-estar individual e social de cada pessoa.

Listam-se os atos médicos que se enquadram neste conceito, acompanhadas pelo respetivo código da Tabela de Nomenclatura de Atos Médicos em vigor (quando existente). A listagem carece, necessariamente, de revisão sistemática periódica, uma vez que a evolução do conhecimento técnico e científico da Medicina assim o exige.

The aim of this document is to clarify and help distinguish the purpose of performing the most common “aesthetic” medical acts. The use of the concepts “curative” and “non-curative” are used generically throughout the document, and are not exclusive to aesthetics – there are other medical acts without curative purposes that are not subject to the considerations of this document and that should be clarified separately. Likewise, the use of the concepts “curative” and “non-curative” are determinants of clinical and physical objectives, and the classification of an act in these categories should always be framed with the psychological status, and individual and social well- being of each person.

The medical acts that fall under this concept are listed, accompanied by the respective code of the Table of Nomenclature of Medical Acts in force (if any). The list necessarily needs periodic systematic review since the evolution of technical and scientific knowledge in Medicine requires it.
